Ronnie, all PlanetJune crochet tutorials have left- and right-handed versions 🙂 There’s no need to convert patterns to left-handed – you’ll end up with a mirror-image of a right-hander’s result, but most patterns are symmetrical, so this rarely matters!

I tried for years to convert patterns to lefthanded. It seemed everything was backward and was more frustrating than it might be worth. But finally realized, both my hands are doing the work so just train my right hand to hold the needle/hook etc. Once you get the hang of it, it is so much easier than trying to convert every pattern to a left handed pattern. Yes it takes a lot of practice. But so much simpler. I just made a long chain and single crocheted, then dc and so on. Did the same with the guitar. I wanted to learn and tried to switch strings and hold it in the other hand, but same thing. Trying to change notes to opposite. NOT FUN. We have two hands teach them both to work. good luck

Noreen is so right. My mom taught me the same way. She was right-handed and of course, I am left-handed. So I watched her through a mirror and it made all the difference. I could follow her and learnt how to crochet that way.

Just crochet in front of a mirror and you will see yourself crocheting right handed, even though using your left hand. I taught a left handed daughter to crochet (I’m right handed) and she did fine just sitting across from me and mirroring my actions.
