free pattern: plumeria flowers

This Plumeria is the first design that I’ve completed since my arrival in South Africa. I first encountered these beautiful flowers on holiday in Hawaii, so I was delighted to discover that they grow here too! Picking up fallen blossoms on my travels, I started to look at the intriguing spiral petal formation, and wondered if I could reproduce it in crochet… Turns out, the answer was yes 🙂

Here’s the resulting design:

I tried to take a photo of my inspiration for you, but by that time almost all the blossoms had fallen (it’s autumn here!) and all I could find were these two tiny specimens on a rainy day. But the lighting conditions gave my photos this lovely ethereal glow, so that’s okay:

And now you can use my pattern to make your own plumeria blooms, wherever in the world you happen to be. Crochet a touch of the tropics with these exotic plumeria blossoms. Use a plumeria flower to make a beautiful pin or hair accessory, or to embellish anything! My pattern includes three different petal designs – choose your own colours to make custom blooms.

The Plumeria crochet pattern is free for you to use. If you’d like to thank me with a donation, you’ll get a handy printable PDF version of the pattern as a thank you 🙂

Enjoy!

    HI June!
I just recently came across ur blog. I crochet just a little(very little..lol). I do cards & scrapbooking..the cards being my main passion..but dabble in other crafts occasionally.
I found your blog when I was looking up idea’s for the shrink plastic I had just bought. Oh how I DRREEAAMM of how having my very own space JUST 4 crafts *sigh*.
Good luck at re-assembling ur room! Hope it goes well for u & that u get well & STAY well. I grew up w/bronchitis…it’s NO fun!
I was diagnosed w/fibromyalgia, bursitis, osteoarthritis n my knees, right ankle & low back n 2003. I live n constant unrelenting pain & use my crafts as therapy & a way to get lost when the pain level goes up. I unfortunately spend way more time n bed than I do @ my crafting table..I’d spend most of my time their if my body wld let me get away w/it! LOL.
By the way…you didn’t say why the move? & where did you move from.
    Happy Crafting,
    Mandy

Nice to hear from you, Mandy – I agree that crafting is a great way to take your mind off your pains! We moved from Canada because my husband got a job here in Cape Town. (I try not to go over and over the same stuff in my posts so I hopefully don’t bore my long-term readers too much, but if you’re interested I first talked about the move back last November and I’ve posted about our progress ever since 🙂 )
