An original crochet amigurumi Common Loon bird pattern by June Gilbank.
The Common Loon, also known as the Great Northern Diver, is mostly found on freshwater lakes in North America. Loons are completely adapted for swimming and diving; their feet are placed far back on their streamlined bodies which makes it difficult for them to walk on land, and they only come ashore to breed.
Yarn: worsted weight yarn in black and white
Hook: US E / 3.5mm
Details: This pattern includes bonus appendices for both right- and left-handers that include full step-by-step photos to walk you through the special technique used to create the realistic shaping.
