I consider myself to be an intermediate to advanced amigurumi maker but there were still things I learned from this book. June Gilbank has put together an amazing resource for anybody interested in learning to or currently making amigurumi. This book can guide the beginner to take their first steps in their crochet journey and lead them to more advanced techniques. The basic animal shapes and basic human patterns she gives you are a fantastic way to try your hand at custom work. The pictures and illustrations in the book are very clear and easy to follow. This will be a great tool for helping the novice get started. If you are interested in becoming an amigurumi designer there is an entire section dedicated to that as well. In addition to all that there is a left-handed version of the book. If you visit the Planet June website, you can find many videos that demonstrate some of the techniques found in the book and they too are both right and left-handed. This book should be in every amigurumi makers library.
