For anyone who doesn't yet have this book in their electronic hands, you are in for a treat! June shares her amigurumi knowledge, honed over her extensive (and continuing) career of creating, designing, and publishing amigurumi designs and patterns.
This is a book for learning how to do pro-quality amigurumi, laid out in easy to follow sections; there are patterns here, but this is not a pattern book. The patterns are here to be concrete projects on which to practice and use the skills and techniques in the book. (You'll find a bazillionty and two patterns elsewhere here on June's site.)
As a visual learner, the photographs in a book are crucial to me. June's photos are abundant and clear; the colors chosen for the yarns are high contrast without being jarring. The notations on the photos are clear, showing exactly where/what you need to know. The photo quality is very high both here and in the print version. In this electronic version you can zoom in very close without any fuzziness; they're readable and crisp even at the highest zoom I could do on my computer.
Not only does June show you the best way to do a technique, she puts it into context, showing how it compares to the alternatives. So if you have a technique you are already using, you can see how it compares to the other ways of doing it and choose if you want to change how you do it or not.
If you want to take your amigurumi to the next level, you'll want this book.
If you want to design your own amigurumi, June has you covered too! Once you understand all the techniques she's explained, she goes one better and has a section on how to apply that to create your own designs.
