I have made 7 lizards from this pattern, three as written with small embellishments (faces) and the rest modified to make other lizards with different size yarn and hooks. It is easy to modify. The head, body and tail being one piece makes it great for kids who like to carry or swing it around by the tail. The spikes are a little tricky but they look good even when not done quite right. I had some trouble getting the pipe cleaners through the body for the legs until I started putting a bigger hook through first, then catching the pipe cleaner loop and pulling it through. This also made it easier to make the legs even. A fun pattern to work with.
