This is one of my all-time favorite shawl patterns, from any designer. It's simple, but works up beautifully in both solid and variegated yarns.
The pattern is "PlanetJune" standard (high quality) and includes a pattern chart in addition to written instructions (as a visual learner, I love that the chart is included). Also included at the end is a picture rich explanation page for a special stitch used.
This means you can skip that page when printing if you don't need it.
It has a simple to memorize two-row repeat, and stitches are worked into the spaces of the row before, so it's fast and easy; a perfect "on the go" project (which is how I've done most of the ones I've made).
Although the pattern says blocking is optional, I find it really helps to even out the stitching...
"On the go" projects tend to be worked in many smaller sessions, and my tension varies a lot because of that, so blocking really makes it look much nicer. If you use a washable yarn you might get away with just washing it rather than spot cleaning, and that might substitute for blocking if you even it out when laying out to dry.
