It's eternally satisfying to me that these patterns, which a lesser designer might get away with using very basic shapes for, are so meticulously created to have the perfect shapes. As always, June's detailed instructions on attaching the parts are very helpful, and I really needed them, as belugas are such strangely shaped whales. The belugas' beaks are a bit fiddly to sew on (particularly the baby's), but worth doing for the look on my sister's face when I presented her with them!
