I made these in nice whole cotton yarn for my newborn #2 grandson and they were just perfect for him to hold onto and wave around. Mama loved it too because they would go right into the washer and dryer. They even amused #1 grandson who was six at the time, because the pattern was so lifelike he learned the difference between octopus and squid. Orie enjoy them even more when he started teething, chewing on them felt good.
