Even though I bought this pattern probably a year ago - I started making this platypus for the who-knows-how-many'th time and suddenly felt the need to review it!

I've been doing the amigurumi thing for more than a year now, and much of my skill was built through PlanetJune patterns. I've been trying out patterns from other designers over that time, and after recently trying (and failing) for the second time an overly-complex and confusing pattern I bought from another designer, I ditched it and went back to making this platypus.

Instantly, I felt right at home again! I've come to realise that June's patterns strike that ideal balance between simplicity and detail that many other designers don't seem to nail. I love this pattern so much - the platypus is one of my absolute favourite Aussie animals, and this pattern captures its shape and character perfectly.
