Day 2

I woke early and went for a run along the beachfront. It was lovely, although it was already a bit too hot at 6.30am!

We went for breakfast at our reserved table in the sea view window of the breakfast room. We had a huge breakfast, the best part of which was fresh fruit salad of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries.

We had a bit of a run to catch the bus to the zoo, but we made it. We had a few mins to spare in St Helier between buses, but pretty much all the shops were shut.

The zoo was great, especially the gang of silvery marmosets who ran along ropes and through the trees, and stopped to pose for us every now and then. We tried to keep in the shade as much as possible, and just had a sandwich for lunch as it was so hot.

We left at 3.20pm as we were hot and tired. We shared an ice cream in town while we waited for a bus back to St Aubin, then we rested in our room until dinnertime. We went to Red China in St Aubin for dinner and we were the only people in the restaurant for most of our meal! It was good though; Dave had satay chicken and I had plum duck.
