The <strong><a href=\"\/shop\/index.php?main_page=product_info&#038;cPath=33&#038;products_id=242\">Cuboctahedron<\/a><\/strong> is one of the <strong>Archimedean solids<\/strong> &#8211; a group of polyhedra made from two or more types of regular polygons, where every vertex (corner) is identical. The 13 Archimedean solids have up to 92 faces each, but the Cuboctahedron is perfect to crochet because it has only 14 faces and the resulting shape is a nicely balanced, satisfyingly large ball.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/shop\/index.php?main_page=product_info&#038;cPath=33&#038;products_id=242\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/blog\/images\/cuboctahedron1.jpg\" alt=\"cuboctahedron geometric ball crochet pattern by planetjune\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<em>Cuboctahedron is a faceted geometric ball &#8211; how fun is that?!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m releasing the <a href=\"\/shop\/index.php?main_page=product_info&#038;cPath=33&#038;products_id=242\">Cuboctahedron<\/a> as an expansion pack for my <a href=\"\/shop\/index.php?main_page=product_info&#038;cPath=19&#038;products_id=201\">Polyhedral Balls pattern<\/a>, so you can extend the value of of that pattern if you&#8217;ve already bought it, without having to pay the full price again for something similar.<\/p>\n<h2>What is an Expansion Pack?<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/shop\/images\/expansion.jpg\" alt=\"Expansion Packs by PlanetJune\" style=\"float: right; padding-left:10px\"\/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An Expansion Pack is an add-on to an existing PlanetJune pattern.<\/li>\n<li>The Expansion Pack lets you <em>modify<\/em> or <em>add to<\/em> the original pattern to create something else.<\/li>\n<li>You <strong>cannot<\/strong> use the Expansion Pack alone &#8211; you <strong>must also purchase the original pattern<\/strong> in order to be able to complete the pictured items in the Expansion Pack pattern.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Cuboctahedron, in particular, includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All the modifications required to\u00a0crochet and assemble\u00a0a cuboctahedron.<\/li>\n<li>Tips for colour selection to give your ball the most impact.<\/li>\n<li>Full right- and left-handed step-by-step\u00a0assembly diagrams as separate appendices, so you need only print the pages you need.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Cuboctahedron dwarfs my other Polyhedral Balls!
