Although you may not have heard of all of them before, you won&#8217;t be able to resist their big-eyed cuteness&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/shop\/index.php?main_page=product_info&#038;cPath=17&#038;products_id=318\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/blog\/images\/mini_mammals.jpg\" alt=\"Mini Mammals (Sengi, Jerboa, Mouse) crochet pattern by PlanetJune\"><\/a><br \/>\n<em>L-R: a long-nosed Sengi, a jumping Jerboa, and an adorable pet Mouse<\/em><\/p>\n<p>And when I say mini, I really do mean mini: they&#8217;re only about 4&#8243; (10cm) long, excluding tails.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/shop\/index.php?main_page=product_info&#038;cPath=17&#038;products_id=318\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/blog\/images\/mini_mammals_jerboa_size.jpg\" alt=\"Mini Mammals crochet pattern by PlanetJune - Jerboa\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<em>I have small hands &#8211; they really are tiny&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Meet the Mini Mammals!<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Sengi:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/shop\/index.php?main_page=product_info&#038;cPath=17&#038;products_id=318\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/blog\/images\/mini_mammals_sengi.jpg\" alt=\"Mini Mammals crochet pattern by PlanetJune - Sengi\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sengi are also known as elephant shrews (but they aren&#8217;t shrews).<\/li>\n<li>They look like long-nosed mice, but they aren&#8217;t even rodents &#8211; in fact, sengi are more closely related to aardvarks!<\/li>\n<li>Sengi are the world&#8217;s fastest small mammals. They make a network of tiny trails throughout their territory so they can run fast and escape from predators.<\/li>\n<li>They live throughout Africa, eat insects, and hibernate every night to conserve energy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Jerboa:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/shop\/index.php?main_page=product_info&#038;cPath=17&#038;products_id=318\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/blog\/images\/mini_mammals_jerboa.jpg\" alt=\"Mini Mammals crochet pattern by PlanetJune - Jerboa\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jerboa live in the deserts of Asia and north Africa.<\/li>\n<li>They are nocturnal rodents who mostly eat seeds and plants.<\/li>\n<li>They move by hopping on their long back legs, using their long tails for balance, like a kangaroo!<\/li>\n<li>There are over 30 species of jerboa. <em>(I made the Long-Eared Jerboa for my pattern, because it&#8217;s extra cute, but you can easily make a different type of jerboa by substituting the Mouse or Sengi ears!)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Mouse:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/shop\/index.php?main_page=product_info&#038;cPath=17&#038;products_id=318\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/blog\/images\/mini_mammals_mouse.jpg\" alt=\"Mini Mammals crochet pattern by PlanetJune - Mouse\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mice are small, primarily nocturnal rodents who eat mostly seeds and grains.<\/li>\n<li>They are among the most common and numerous animals in the world, and are found in almost every country.<\/li>\n<li>A female house mouse can give birth to up to 150 babies per year!<\/li>\n<li>A group of mice is known as a mischief \ud83d\ude09<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Links to Buy &#038; Launch Discount<\/h2>\n<p>This pattern collection includes all three Mini Mammals at a bargain price.
