In addition to detailed assembly instructions, this pattern includes two amazing new techniques to make a really special mane and tail:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The mane is thick and full, and the strands are attached neatly and firmly.\n<\/li>\n<li>The tail hangs beautifully with no knots or visible attachment points.<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<p>Both techniques require no additional materials and are explained in full in the pattern, with lots of step-by-step photos so you can make a perfect horse!<\/p>\n<h2>Unicorn and Pegasus Expansion Pack<\/h2>\n<p>And, of course, having a horse design opens up a whole world of possibilities for other designs, and I couldn&#8217;t wait to add a Unicorn and Pegasus Expansion Pack for the Horse. And I&#8217;m so thrilled with the result &#8211; I hope you agree!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/blog\/images\/unicorn_pegasus.jpg\" alt=\"unicorn_pegasus\" width=\"500\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16499\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.planetjune.com\/blog\/images\/unicorn_pegasus.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.planetjune.com\/blog\/images\/unicorn_pegasus-150x90.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>What is an Expansion Pack?<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: right; padding-left: 10px;\" src=\"\/shop\/images\/expansion.jpg\" alt=\"Expansion Packs by PlanetJune\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An Expansion Pack is an add-on to an existing PlanetJune pattern.<\/li>\n<li>The Expansion Pack lets you <em>modify<\/em> or <em>add to<\/em> the original pattern to create something else.<\/li>\n<li>You <strong>cannot<\/strong> use the Expansion Pack alone &#8211; you <strong>must also purchase the original pattern<\/strong> in order to be able to complete the pictured items in the Expansion Pack pattern.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This Expansion Pack lets you convert my Horse into a Unicorn, a Pegasus, and\/or an Alicorn (that&#8217;s a winged Unicorn &#8211; or a horned Pegasus if you prefer!) &#8211; so you actually get three options in one Expansion Pack:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/blog\/images\/unicorn_pegasus_alicorn.jpg\" alt=\"unicorn_pegasus_alicorn\" width=\"500\" height=\"645\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.planetjune.com\/blog\/images\/unicorn_pegasus_alicorn.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.planetjune.com\/blog\/images\/unicorn_pegasus_alicorn-116x150.jpg 116w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m especially pleased with the elegant wings &#8211; they&#8217;re a combination of sturdy and decorative, as they&#8217;re stiff enough to stand up by themselves, while still looking delicate with the feathered edge.<\/p>\n<h2>Hoofing It CAL<\/h2>\n<p>In honour of the new patterns, we&#8217;re starting a new crochet-along in the <a href=\"\/ravelry\" target=\"_blank\">PlanetJune group on Ravelry<\/a> &#8211; you can make any of the new designs, or any other PlanetJune designs with hooves (see the CAL thread for the full list).
