For the uninitiated (there may still be some of you out there?), Daleks are the scary villains from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/doctorwho\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Doctor Who<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><a  href=\"\/blog\/images\/dalek1.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/blog\/images\/dalek1.jpg\" width=\"400\" alt=\"crocheted dalek\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<em>Click for larger version<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I based it on amdowns&#8217; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.awin1.com\/cread.php?awinmid=6939&#038;awinaffid=626455&#038;clickref=&#038;p=%5B%5Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.etsy.com%252Fview_listing.php%253Flisting_id%253D5921493%5D%5D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dalek Crochet Pattern<\/a>, but I made a few modifications with the base and the eye and plunger attachments. I&#8217;d have made more modifications if I had time &#8211; I really wish the texture of the body was more distinct, and I&#8217;d probably redo the whole thing using 2 colours. It also looks a bit too plump and cuddly, but I&#8217;m happy with the attachments (they are wired inside so they are poseable) and I put an old CD inside the base to keep the bottom flat &#8211; it just happened to be exactly the right size.
