Just add the amount you wish to donate, and, once you have checked out and paid, your PDF will instantly be available to download from your PlanetJune account.<\/p>\n<p>The complete instructions are available below, regardless of whether or not you choose to pay for them \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>This is a PlanetJune original tutorial. <strong>Please do not share or reproduce this tutorial<\/strong>; instead post a link to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetjune.com\/origamipoinsettia\" class=\"autohyperlink\">www.planetjune.com\/origamipoinsettia<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>You will need:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>3 squares of red origami paper (3&#8243;\/7.5cm across or as large as you wish)*<\/li>\n<li>12&#8243;\/30cm thin craft wire (or sewing thread)<\/li>\n<li>Yellow button or bead(s) to make the centre of the poinsettia<\/li>\n<li>White craft glue<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>* <em><strong>Notes:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>The diameter of the finished poinsettia will be the same as the width of the starting squares.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>If you don&#8217;t have origami paper, cut squares from gift wrapping paper or other thin coloured paper.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Instructions<\/h2>\n<p><em><strong>Note:<\/strong> As with all origami, this works best if you strongly crease each fold by running your thumbnail along each fold before moving on to the next step.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1.<\/strong> Place a square of origami paper with the coloured side facing down. Fold it in half from side to side, crease and unfold. Fold it in half from top to bottom, crease and unfold.<\/p>\n<div class=\"halfcenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"half\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia01.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"half\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia02.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/div>\n<p><strong>Step 2.\u00a0<\/strong>Now fold it in half diagonally, crease and unfold.\u00a0Repeat for the other diagonal.<\/p>\n<div class=\"halfcenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"half\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia03.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"half\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia04.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/div>\n<p><strong>Step 3.<\/strong> Fold all 4 corners in to the centre (the point where all your previous fold lines meet).<\/p>\n<div class=\"halfcenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"half alignnone\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia05.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"half\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia06.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/div>\n<p><strong>Step 4.<\/strong> Fold the top point down to the centre, and the bottom point up to the centre.<\/p>\n<div class=\"halfcenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"half\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia07.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"half\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia08.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/div>\n<p><strong>Step 5.<\/strong> Fold the bottom edge up to meet the top edge.<\/p>\n<div class=\"halfcenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"half\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia09.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"half\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia10.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/div>\n<p><strong>Step 6.<\/strong> Fold the piece in half from side to side, crease and unfold.<\/p>\n<div class=\"halfcenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"half\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia11.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"half\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia12.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<strong><em>Note:<\/em><\/strong><em> \u00a0Your first leaf piece is now complete.<\/em><\/div>\n<p><strong>Step 7.\u00a0<\/strong>Repeat Steps 1-6 twice more, to make a total of three leaf pieces.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"half\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia13.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0cm;\"><strong>Step 8.<\/strong>\u00a0Cut a 12&#8243;\/30cm length of craft wire, or sewing thread. Slide your bead(s) or button to the centre of the wire\/thread and twist\/knot them in place.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"half\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia14.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 9.<\/strong>\u00a0Hold the three leaf pieces together, with the wider edge of each at the bottom and the open ends at the top.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"half\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia15.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 10.<\/strong>\u00a0Place the wire\/thread around the middle of the leaf pieces, with the bead\/button centre at the top.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"half\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia16.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 11.\u00a0<\/strong>Cross the ends below the pieces, then bring each end up over the bundle of pieces and back down to the bottom. Twist\/knot the ends together at the bottom.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"half\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia17.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 12. <\/strong>Choose a leaf to open out and fold the other leaves\u00a0down out of the way. Bring the tip of the leaf\u00a0towards the centre so the leaf opens out into a\u00a0diamond shape, and re-crease the leaf along the\u00a0existing fold line at each side of the diamond.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"half\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia18.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 13. <\/strong>Repeat Step 12 for the remaining 5 leaves, until they\u00a0all stay open. You&#8217;ll find they leave a gap on each\u00a0side, where the wire\/thread falls.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"half\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia19.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 14. <\/strong>Look at the gap from the side so you can see the\u00a0wire\/thread between two of the leaves. Apply a\u00a0small dab of glue to one leaf, close to the\u00a0wire\/thread. Repeat for the gap on the other side.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"half\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia20.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 15.\u00a0<\/strong>Press the pairs of leaves\u00a0together and hold in place until the glue has dried.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"half\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia21.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<em><strong>Note:<\/strong> \u00a0\u00a0 You may also glue between the other pairs of leaves in the same way, but it&#8217;s not necessary.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 16.\u00a0<\/strong>Trim the excess wire\/thread, or leave the ends long\u00a0so you can use them to attach the poinsettia to\u00a0something.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"half\" src=\"\/blog\/tut_images\/origamipoinsettia22.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!
