It makes a strong flattened non-stretchy braid with many applications, for example: jewellery, a narrow belt, or a strap for a small bag or purse. <\/p>\n<p>I used this cord to make my Crochet Braid Bracelet (you can find the free pattern for these bracelets at <a href=\"\/braidbracelet\">www.planetjune.com\/braidbracelet<\/a>):<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/blog\/images\/crochetbraidbracelets.jpg\" alt=\"crochet braid bracelet pattern, by planetjune\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>My method is a <strong>simplified variation<\/strong> of the cord used to make Romanian Point Lace. Here are a few, off the top of my head:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a necklace<\/li>\n<li>a hairband<\/li>\n<li>a belt for a sundress<\/li>\n<li>a strap for a small purse<\/li>\n<li>a tie-back for a curtain<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Or, if you&#8217;d like to get even more creative:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>braid three or more strands of cord into a wider plait<\/li>\n<li>crochet into the loops along one of the edges to use the cord as a solid base for a more decorative design<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I&#8217;m sure you can think of lots more!
