Latest news and updates from June

in limbo

The blog is a little quiet because I’m playing a waiting game at the moment, so I don’t have a lot I can blog about yet:

  • Waiting for my new book to be released (less than 6 weeks to go!)
  • Waiting to see an advance copy – they should be printed by now and I can’t describe just how nervously excited I am that I’ll soon be able to hold a copy in my hands… (And then I’ll be able to finally share some details with you!)
  • Waiting to announce my new secret project that I’m busying away at behind the scenes…
  • Waiting to finally complete my 2 new crochet patterns that I’ve been working on for weeks – they expanded in scope far beyond what I originally imagined, so it’s taking much longer than I’d anticipated to write and photograph the instructions.

yarns for my next pattern
These yarns have morphed into something special – I hope you’ll agree when I reveal my new designs early next week!

In the meantime, I’m working on so many projects at once, it feels like nothing is getting finished, and I miss that satisfied feeling of having completed a project. It’s made doubly scary as August is always a quiet month for sales (if you have a business, do you find that too, or is it just me?!), so I’m working hard with nothing to show for it yet and not that much money coming in either.

Ah, the perils of self-employment…

Normal service will resume shortly, I’m sure 🙂

  1. Wow June those are some awesome colors… I’m going to guess it’s something fall-like?

    • June said

Oh, that would have been nice – I didn’t even think of that! I love fall colours – maybe I’ll come up with something autumnal with the same colours for next year 😉

Hi June, I am anxiously awaiting your new book as well. I’ve had it on pre-order through Amazon for a while now!!! I hate to admit it because I have been a follower of your blog for quite some time, but I have not finished any actual “ami” projects because I always get hung up somewhere and the whole thing gets off. I purchased some of your great stitch markers last year but I still get goofed up. So…I need your book!!!! To comment on your secret project, I am excited to see what you’re up to. You are so creative! I love the colors, they seem very earthy and rich. I keep imagining that you are making something to go along with your 3D punchneedle project. If not, then maybe you are making some kind of an ami nature scene? I’m curious. Have fun.

Kaylynne, glad to hear you’re looking forward to my book! When you get it, you should try one of the hamster patterns pictured on the cover – it’s such a quick and easy project, I bet that’d give you more confidence to make more amigurumi too 🙂

I’m excited to see the new pattern you are coming up with!! I did want to ask a question though, are going to the Creativ Festival again this year?

    • June said

Aimee, no, I won’t be teaching or exhibiting at the Creativ Festival this time around – at the time of applying to teach this year, I wasn’t sure if we’d still be in Ontario in October, so I didn’t apply. Turns out, we are still here, but I didn’t know that for sure until it was too late 🙁

I can’t possibly wait until Monday! Your patterns are just too cute! I’m not noted for my patience abilities though….=)

    • June said

Ahh, you see, I’m teaching you all the value of patience… 😉 Not long to go now!

  5. I like all those colours. I can’t wait to see what you’ve come up with. Any chance of a sneak peak? 🙂

Hmmm, I think I’ll save the big reveal for Monday – you can wait that long, right? 😉

      • Monday?! No. 😛 I’ll be patient. I’m trying to teach my little guy to be patient, but I think he is influencing me rather than the other way around. 😉
